I was born in Chicago, into a musical family. My father, Cleveland J. Eaton was a famous Jazz musician, playing Contra Bass with the incredible Ramsey Lewis Trio, as well as the World famous Count Basie Orchestra.
I started singing at the age of 5 in my children’s choir at church, and I have not stopped since.
In my High School years I trained summers and graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy. Then went on to study and graduate from the prestigious Theatre program at Carnegie-Mellon University.
Lothair has been very fortunate to perform on stages all over the world.
Lothair’s favorite role, which first took him to Europe is the role of Papa The Old Steam Train in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s STARLIGHT EXPRESS.
Lothair has had the great fortune of playing this role 2,976 times over a 21 year period.
And still loves it!
He was seen in the German production ’92-’95 & 2001-2007, Las Vegas ’96-’98, New Zealand in 2009, and the UK Tour 2012-2013.
Lothair was also seen in the ’95 UK Tour of 5 GUYS NAMED MOE.
Throughout Germany and the UK Lothair has performed in many Musical Galas and events, as well as his own Cabaret shows to rave reviews!
In New York, Lothair was seen in the original cast of NUNSENSE A-MEN as Sister Mary Hubert to wonderful reviews!
Other credits include The York Theatre production of LOST IN THE STARS, Papermill Playhouse’s SHOW BOAT, which was taped and shown on P. B. S. Great Performances, and The Ogunquit Playhouse production of ELF THE MUSICAL as the Macy’s Store Manager, as well as many others.
Enjoying time in Vegas, he went back to play The Master Of Laughter in EFX at the MGM Grand Hotel starring Tommy Tune! This is not surprising if you know Lothair’s Laugh!
TV Credits include an episode of Law & Order Special Victims Unit as Ken, an episode of Cop Rock, and Show Boat on PBS’ Great Performances. He can currently be seen in a National Commercial for BIOTENE & JG WENTWORTH 877 CASH NOW. Also in Avon, AFLAC and others.
Also in 2 FORD commercials while in Germany. Lothair recently was in the movie THE SEARCH FOR CHRISTMAS which can be seen Christmas ‘22.
